Karl Pistorius
Karl Pistorius (born September 22, 1898 in Eger , † April 5, 1966 in Zurich ) was an Austrian operetta singer (tenor). He had various engagements at opera houses in German-speaking countries.
Life
After attending secondary school in Eger , he first tried his hand at photography in Franzensbad in 1918 . In 1925 he became second operetta tenor in Regensburg ; in the same year he appeared in Vienna . Pistorius then worked in 1926/27 as a tenor in Brüx and from 1927–1929 in Teplitz- Schönau, before moving to Düsseldorf in 1929 . From 1930 to 1935 he was first tenor at the Frankfurt Opera ; then he worked in Zurich until 1963 . In 1960 he took part in the film Wilhelm Tell (Castles in Flames) .
Karl Pistorius was married to the operetta singer Wally-Arno Pistorius . His grave can be found at the Rehalp cemetery in Zurich (enclosure). His tomb was lifted.
