Karl Prenner

Karl Prenner (* 1950 ) is an Austrian scholar of religion .

Life

He taught as a professor of Islamic studies with a focus on Koran research at the Institute for Religious Studies at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the Karl-Franzens University in Graz . He is a board member and Vice President of the Austrian Society for Religious Studies (ÖGRW).

His work focuses on Islamic cultural history. Europe and Islam, cultural transfer between Orient and Occident, religion and religiosity in (post) modernity.
