Karl Reifferscheid
Karl Reifferscheid (born January 12, 1874 in Breslau , † March 8, 1926 in Göttingen ) was a German gynecologist and from 1918 to 1926 director of the clinic for gynecology and obstetrics at the Georg August University in Göttingen .

Reifferscheid was born as the younger son of the philologist August Reifferscheid (1835–1887) in Breslau, where his father had been a university professor since 1868 and his older brother Heinrich Reifferscheid , who later became an academy professor in Düsseldorf, was born two years earlier .
As the successor to Philipp Jung and student of Heinrich Fritsch from Bonn , he further developed the therapeutic use of X-rays . During his time, the textbook on gynecology he wrote with Walter Stoeckel became a recognized standard work in medicine.
Heinrich Martius was his successor .
