Karl Siegrist (Mayor)

Karl Siegrist (born November 8, 1862 in Säckingen , † October 29, 1944 in Karlsruhe ) was a German politician .

Siegrist studied law , became a member of the Teutonia Freiburg fraternity in 1880 and a member of the Frankonia Heidelberg fraternity in 1883 , and from 1890 worked as a trainee lawyer at the Karlsruhe city administration. In 1892 he was elected second mayor of the city, and in 1901 first. In 1906 he succeeded Karl Schnetzler in this office on December 22, 1906 , who had died in office on December 6. Siegrist was re-elected and remained Lord Mayor of Karlsruhe until October 10, 1919. He also became a member of the First Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly in 1907 . In 1919 he became a member of the district assembly of the Karlsruhe district.
