Karl Sinkwitz
Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Sinkwitz (born April 9, 1886 in Niederlößnitz , † November 29, 1933 in Kötzschenbroda ) was a German landscape painter and graphic artist .
life and work
As a young man, Sinkwitz studied at the Royal School of Applied Arts in Dresden .
Like his friend Paul Wilhelm and Karl Kröner , he was one of the most important landscape painters of the Loessnitz , but was also a well-known portrait painter .
An exhibition of his work took place in 1949 in the Haus der Kunst and in 1961 in the Hoflößnitz .
Sinkwitz lived most of his life in a villa at Blumenstrasse 5 in Niederlößnitz . His family grave is in the Radebeul-West cemetery . He bequeathed his artistic estate, or rather his heirs, to the city of Radebeul.
