Karl steels

Karl Stähle (born July 15, 1944 in Magstadt ; † October 4, 2019 there ) was a German racing cyclist and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

Steels was a specialist in cyclo-cross races . At the German championships in 1966, Rolf Wolfshohl was runner-up . In 1967 he managed to win the championship title in the amateur class. In the following two years he was able to defend the title. Until 1973 he stood on the podium of the championship races. In 1972 he started at the UCI World Championships for amateurs in cyclo-cross races in Prague , where he was classified fifth. In 1970 he was in Zolder in eighth goal Come. He started for the RV Pfeil Magstadt club .

Professional

Stähle completed an apprenticeship as a glazier and later became a master craftsman in this profession .
