Klaus Jördens

Klaus Jördens (born November 26, 1947 in Hanover ) is a former German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Jördens started with regular sports in soccer and handball . In the winter of 1964 he came to cycling by visiting a cyclo-cross race in Hanover. Immediately afterwards he became a member of the Green-White Association of 1925 Hanover .
As early as 1965 he had his first major success with the victory in the Dusika youth tour . Although he also drove road races (including the British Milk Race in 1971 ) and track races, the cross-country race remained his specialty. In 1974 he was the German amateur champion ahead of Ekkehard Teichreber . Several times he was on the podium as a medal winner at the German championships.

Professional

Jördens completed an apprenticeship as an electrician . Later he was responsible for cross-country races and mountain bike races as a national cross-country trainer in the Association of German Cyclists (BDR) .
