Karl Stolz (born April 8, 1873 in St. Pölten , Lower Austria , † October 9, 1967 ) was an Austrian entrepreneur and mayor of the market town of Kirchberg an der Pielach .

Life

At the age of two, Stolz and his parents came to Kirchberg an der Pielach, where his father Michael Stolz first leased a business from the Glashüter family in 1875 and then bought it in 1877. The company had a long tradition, as there was a main tobacco publisher here as early as 1820. In 1880 this location burned down and after the reconstruction, Karl Stolz took over the company in 1903.

From 1906 to 1930 Karl Stolz was councilor of the market town of Kirchberg an der Pielach and from 1930 to 1938 mayor. In addition to this function, he was also fire brigade commander and district fire brigade commander as well as savings bank director of the Sparkasse Kirchberg an der Pielach from 1906 until the takeover by the Sparkasse St. Polten in 1942 and a member of the ADEG board of directors .

He died on October 9, 1967. 1200 people were present at his funeral, and Josef Scherrer , a member of the National Council and fire department official , gave a funeral speech.
