Johann Karl Vietor (born May 6, 1861 in Bremen ; † May 17, 1934 in Hude ) was a German businessman and entrepreneur from Bremen.

Life

Vietor was the son of the theologian Cornelius Rudolph Vietor (1814-1897), pastor at the Liebfrauenkirche in Bremen, and of Adelheid Luce, who came from a Bremen medical family. His sister was the educator Anna Vietor . He grew up in a very large circle of siblings. He attended the old grammar school in Bremen .

He became a tobacco dealer and joined the company Friedrich M. Vietor & Sons founded by his grandfather in 1884 . The company operated in West Africa . In 1888 he founded the JK Vietor company in the former German colony of Togo and set up several branches and subsidiaries in West Africa. Since 1886, the company has been based in Bremen, Vor dem Stephanikirchhof / Diepenauer Straße in the Stephaniviertel .
