Karl Weiss (archivist)
Karl Weiss also white (born February 13, 1826 in Vienna ; † December 23, 1895 ibid ) was an Austrian archivist and librarian.
Karl Weiss attended the Piarist grammar school in Josefstadt until 1842 and in 1843 joined the Vienna City Administration. In 1845 he came to the presidential chancellery, in 1851 he was promoted to the office of official. At his suggestion, the city library was founded in 1856 . In 1874 he was appointed archive and library director.
