Karl Wiebel (politician, 1866)

Karl Arnold Wiebel (born July 20, 1866 in Elberfeld (now part of Wuppertal ), † May 26, 1921 in Leipzig ) was a German doctor and politician (DNVP).

After attending preschool and grammar school in Elberfeld , Wiebel joined Fusilier Regiment No. 80 for six months in 1885. He then studied medicine at the Universities of Marburg and Leipzig (1887–90). After completing his studies with the doctorate to Dr. med. At the turn of the year 1890/91 Wiebel belonged again to Fusilier Regiment No. 80 for half a year. Wiebel then spent another year as a doctor with Infantry Regiment No. 87 before he accepted a position as a spa doctor in the royal Bad Weilbach in 1891 . In 1894 he moved to Rüsselsheim as a general practitioner .

In 1907 Wiebel gave up his practice in Rüsselsheim to work as a full-time manager of the Association of Doctors in Germany ( Hartmannbund ). In this capacity, he was also responsible for editing the newspaper correspondence of the Ärzteblatt. As an author, Wiebel mainly wrote articles on issues relating to the union medical movement and related areas.

At the First World War Wiebelsberg participated as chief medical officer. After the war Wiebel settled in Leipzig as a doctor. Around 1919 he joined the German National People's Party (DNVP). In June 1920 , at the suggestion of his party, Wiebel entered the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic , of which he was a member until his death in May 1921. Wiebel's mandate was then taken over by his party colleague Gustav Budjuhn for the rest of the legislative period .
