Volrad Deneke
Johann Friedrich Volrad Deneke (born March 8, 1920 in Wernigerode , † September 19, 2006 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg ) was a German journalist , sociologist and politician ( FDP ).
Life and work
Deneke was born as the son of the Princely Stolberg archives director Günther Deneke and as the brother of the future North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Agriculture Diether Deneke . After graduating from high school in Davos in 1938 , he trained as a bookseller in Magdeburg . On September 1, 1939, Deneke joined the NSDAP ( membership number 7.143.950). In 1940 he completed his training with the assistant examination. He then studied economics and social sciences, worked as a business journalist in 1941/42 and worked as a publishing bookseller in 1942/43. In 1943 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and then took part in the Second World War as a soldier until 1945 .
After the end of the war, Deneke turned back to journalism, worked from 1945 to 1948 as a freelance journalist and from 1948 to 1951 as head of the service as well as deputy editor-in-chief at Aachener Nachrichten . From 1951 he worked as a correspondent for various newspapers in Bonn and from 1958 to 1964 as editor-in-chief at Deutsches Ärzteblatt . From 1984 he worked as a freelance specialist journalist.
As a part-time job, Deneke worked as a lecturer at the Evangelical Library School in Göttingen from 1961 to 1992 and from 1961 to 1992 taught at the universities in Düsseldorf , Erlangen and Mainz , and since 1975 in the function of an unscheduled professor. In doing so, he dealt with the history of medical journalism, medical journalism and health education , as evidenced by many publications . He was from 1971 to 1974 CEO of the Association of German Medical Association ( Hartmannbund ) and then to 1984, chief executive of the German Medical Association and the German Medical . From 1981 to 1983 he was director of the Institute for Liberal Professions at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . He was also chairman of the state association of the liberal professions in North Rhine-Westphalia , from 1984 to 1994 then president of the federal association of liberal professions and then its honorary president.
Political activity
Deneke was a member of the German Bundestag from July 26, 1963, when he replaced the late MP Ernst Keller , until 1965. He was drawn into parliament via the state list of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1969 to 1971 he was federal manager of the FDP. From 1970 to 1971 Deneke was the editor in charge of the free democratic correspondence (fdk).
