Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz (born April 8, 1951 in Lübeck , † January 20, 2016 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life

Beerfeltz studied sociology at the University of Hamburg . From 1988 to 1992 Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz was head of the Otto Graf Lambsdorff office , and from 1992 to 1995 he was vice president of the Federal Agency for Civic Education . From September 20, 1995 to November 9, 2009 he was federal manager of the FDP. His successor was Gabriele Renatus in April 2010 . After the change of government in 2009, he took over the office of State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development . At the end of 2010 he became chairman of the supervisory board of the development aid organization Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) that emerged from the merger of GTZ , DED and InWent . He resigned from both offices in December 2013 . Since April 2014 he has been Secretary General of the Westerwelle Foundation .

Beerfeltz was buried in Cemetery II of the Sophiengemeinde Berlin .
