Karl Wilhelm wing

Karl Wilhelm Flügel (baptized March 18, 1788 in Bern ; † June 5, 1857 there ) was a Swiss doctor.
Life
Karl Wilhelm wings came from the regiment enabled family wing of Berne from Buchau am Federsee came and in 1625 in Bern settled. He was the son of the red tanner Johann Rudolf and Maria Katharina Salome Kohler. Flügel received medical training at Inselspital Bern. He passed the state examination as a doctor and surgeon at the Bern Academy . Study trips took him to Heidelberg , Würzburg and Paris . In 1810 he opened a practice in Le Locle , and in 1814 he moved to Bern. He became a member of the Bern Medical College and Chief Vaccinator of the Canton of Bern. In 1834 he was appointed chief field doctor, garrison doctor and doctor of the Bern military hospital and received an honorary doctorate in medicine from the University of Bern. The Swiss Army appointed him to head the Swiss military medical service in 1835 (last active service in the Neuchâtel trade 1856–1857). In 1841 he was promoted to colonel . He wrote a critical report on the medical system in the Sonderbund War .
