Karl Wilhelm Nessler

Karl Wilhelm Nessler (born September 26, 1830 in Durstel , † January 23, 1904 in Berlin ) was a Protestant pastor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

From 1850 Nessler studied Protestant theology and philology in Strasbourg and Paris . During his studies in 1855 he became a member of the Black Castle Association Wilhelmitana Strasbourg . In 1856 he was due a thesis on Johann Heinrich Jung in Strasbourg Dr. theol. PhD. In 1857 he married Amalie Kampmann.

Until 1872 he was pastor in Alsace and then preacher at the French Reformed community in Berlin.

From 1879 to 1882 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and from 1880 to 1884 of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Potsdam 7th district (Potsdam, Osthavelland) and the German Progressive Party . Nessler was also a member of the Berlin Freemason Lodge Zur Eintracht and from 1880 until his death in 1904 its master of the chair .
