Karl Wilhelm von Jeetze

Karl Wilhelm von Jeetze (born July 1, 1710 in Mantua , † May 7, 1753 in Berlin ) was commander of a grenadier battalion and captain of the 1st battalion of the Guard .

Life

origin

His parents were Joachim Christoph von Jeetze and Dorothea Sophie von Borstell († May 28, 1759). He was born to the Brandenburg troops in Italy during the War of the Spanish Succession .

Military career

Jeetze came to the body regiment of King Friedrich Wilhelm I. When Friedrich II became king in 1740 , the latter appointed him lieutenant of the guard with major rank. He fought in the First Silesian War and was wounded in the Battle of Mollwitz . On July 15, 1741 he was staff captain and on June 28, 1745 lieutenant colonel . Already in October 1744 he received a grenadier battalion, which was composed of the grenadier companies of the regiments "Bonin" No. 5 and "Münchow" No. 36 . With this he fought in Hohenfriedberg and in the battle near Tein.

In 1747 he was again given command of a grenadier battalion, this time composed of the companies of the regiments "Margrave Heinrich" No. 35 and "la Motte" No. 33 .

family

Jeetze was married to Dorothea von Einsiedel (* January 8, 1729, † 1783), the daughter of General von Einsiedel , since 1744 . The couple had three sons:

His widow stayed on the Wiepersdorf and Bärwalde hereditary estates after his death . A later marriage with Rittmeister Grotthuss was divorced again.
