Karl Winter (dentist)

Karl Winter (born January 14, 1900 in Bochum , † June 5, 1984 in Düsseldorf ) was a German dentist .

Life

Born the son of a dental technician , Winter studied dentistry in Marburg after attending secondary school in Düsseldorf . During his studies he became a member of the Hercynia Marburg fraternity in 1918 ; later (1950) member of the Rheinfranken fraternity . After receiving his doctorate , he set up as a dentist in Düsseldorf in 1926 . Winter joined the NSDAP on February 1, 1932, but left it again in June 1933. Among other things, he worked as a dentist in the Düsseldorf penal institution for over fifty years . After the Second World War he was founding president of the North Rhine Dental Association in 1953 . He held this office until 1969. When he left, he was given the title of Honorary President. From 1962 to 1976 he was President of the Federal Association of Liberal Professions . He was a member of the supervisory board of the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank . In his honor, the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank awards the Karl Winter Medal to deserving members of the bank.
