Life

He joined the editorial team of the Hessische Morgenzeitung , founded and run by Friedrich Oetker , a friend of his father's . Later he took over the editing of a national liberal newspaper in Leipzig and finally joined the editorial team of the National newspaper in Berlin. From 1887 to 1905 he worked in the Royal Prussian Literary Office and in this position edited the daily political newspaper report for the Kaiser. In addition, he published the "German History Calendar" from 1885 in two volumes a year and edited several document collections on Otto von Bismarck . He also wrote numerous articles for the " Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie " (ADB). In 1905 he retired.

In the 1860s Wippermann was a member of the Hessian Estates Assembly . From 1868 to 1872 he was also a member of the first Electoral Hesse municipal parliaments .
