Karl von Marinelli
Karl von Marinelli (baptized September 12, 1745 in Vienna ; † January 28, 1803 there ) was an Austrian actor and writer .
Life
At the age of sixteen Marinelli was already on the road with the acting troupe led by J. Schulz. Under the new direction of Johann Matthias Menninger , Marinelli was able to debut in Pressburg , Budapest and Vienna . With his plays, especially for this troupe, Marinelli founded the later nationally known Viennese local posse of the old Viennese folk comedy . This is where Johann Joseph La Roche made his breakthrough as a puppet .
Marinelli took over the management of the troupe in 1780 and, with her, created Vienna's first standing theater in the Leopoldstadt Theater the following year . In 1801 Marinelli was ennobled by Emperor Franz II with the predicate Edler von . He died in Vienna on January 28, 1803 at the age of 58.
Since 1894 the Allied quarter in Vienna's second district Leopoldstadt the Marinelligasse named after him.
