Karl Emmerich Ludwig Raiffeisen , from 1881 from Raiffeisen , (born February 25, 1820 in Waldenburg , † October 13, 1888 in Heilbronn ) was a German Protestant theologian .

family

Karl Raiffeisen was the son of the pastor in Waldenburg Johann Karl Raiffeisen (1785–1843) and Eleonore Christina Koch. In 1845 he married Elisabeth Luise Julie Ammon. He had six children with her.

job

After attending the Latin school in Schwäbisch Hall and the Protestant theological seminar in Blaubeuren , he studied Protestant theology at the Tübingen monastery . From 1841 to 1843 he was vicar to his father in Gailenkirchen , after his death he became a pastor there. After pastorships in Eschelbach and Untersteinbach , he became city pastor and dean in Langenburg in 1853 . In 1871 he became dean in Ludwigsburg and in May 1880 as the successor to the retired Friedrich von Brackenhammer prelate and general superintendent of Heilbronn . He died of pneumonia.

politics

The general superintendents of the Evangelical Church were officially privileged members of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament . Karl von Raiffeisen therefore also entered the state parliament in 1880 after his appointment in Heilbronn. He held the office until his death.

Award

Raiffeisen was awarded the Knight's Cross First Class of the Order of Frederick in 1877 . In 1881 he received the Ehrenritter cross of the Order of Württembergischen crown , which with the personal needle tracks ( Nobilitierung ) was connected.
