Karl von Sauter

Karl Sauter , from 1892 by Sauter (born June 18, 1839 in Aalen , † July 28, 1902 in Stuttgart ), was a German state construction officer and architect .

Life

Sauter attended the polytechnic and the art school in Stuttgart. In 1857 he worked in Christian Friedrich von Leins' studio . After study trips through France and Italy, he got a job in the technical office of the Royal Domain Directorate. In 1871 he was appointed district building inspector. From 1877 he was a technical member of the domain management. In 1882 he became senior building officer and in 1901 building director. He provided the plans for numerous public buildings in Württemberg and carried out the preparatory work for the new building of the Stuttgart State Trade Museum , today's House of Business in Baden-Württemberg .

Awards

Sauter was an honorary citizen of the city of Freudenstadt and the community of Unterreichenbach. He was raised to the personal nobility status by King Wilhelm II in 1892 when he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown .
