The ATP Challenger Alicante (officially: Ferrero Challenger Open ) is a tennis tournament that took place in Alicante , Spain for the first time in 2018 . A tournament took place at the same location as early as 1996. It is part of the ATP Challenger Tour and is played outdoors on clay. The tournament is named after the tournament director and former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero .
