The ATP Challenger Tour Finals were a tennis tournament that was held for the first time in 2011. Similar to the ATP World Tour Finals on the ATP World Tour , the Challenger Finals were the season end of the ATP Challenger Tour . The competition was only held in singles, unlike the ATP Word Tour Finals, where there is also a double competition. The Challenger Finals were by far the best endowed tournament on the ATP Challenger Tour with a total prize money of US $ 220,000 and 125 world ranking points for the tournament winner.
The seven best players on the ATP Challenger Tour were qualified for the finals, which took place a week before the ATP World Tour Finals , and the organizer was also able to award a wildcard . To determine the ranking of the players who had played on the ATP Challenger Tour, only the ATP points that a player had earned on the Challenger Tour were counted. As in the Tour Finals, the eight players were divided into two groups. According to the round robin principle, the semi-final pairings were then determined, the winners of which played for the tournament victory.
The venue was São Paulo in Brazil, the game was played indoors on the hard court in the Ginásio do Ibirapuera sports stadium .
