Karlheinz Gross

Karlheinz Groß (* 1943 in Nordhausen ; † June 21, 2009 in Mundelsheim ) was a German painter , graphic artist and book author .

life and work

Groß studied graphic design and illustration from 1960 to 1965 at the Werkkunstschule Merz and at the technical college for the graphic arts in Stuttgart . From 1966 he worked as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator in Bietigheim-Bissingen . Groß was a caricaturist for newspaper and magazine publishers, designer of posters and record sleeves and created corporate identity. He also worked as a book illustrator and as a designer of TV picture stories for children (for example for the show with the mouse , dandelion and sandman ). With his own sandman stories by Billy Backenzahn , Groß also became known as an author from 1986 onwards.

From 1996 to 1998, Groß was the gallery owner and owner of the gallery in the Wendelinskapelle in Marbach am Neckar . He was a member of the VBK Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg . Groß lived in Mundelsheim from 1993, where he died in 2009.
