The Karvinský potok is a left tributary of the Olsa in the Czech Republic .

course

The Karvinský potok rises north of Horní Suchá in the Ostrava basin. On its course to the north it flows through the mining area west of Karviná . It feeds the Mokroš and Pilňok ponds east of the Důl Barbora and Důl Gabriela coal works. On the following section, the canalised and crumbled course of the brook near Doly leads through the area of the Důl ČSA hard coal works and is led through numerous residual extinguishers and clarification ponds. At Sovinec the stream is bridged by the state road I / 59. Then the Karvinský potok flows past Špluchov, Doubrava , Kozinec and Oplíží on the left side parallel to the Olsa. Opposite the Kouzlo Botanical Garden, the stream is divided in front of its old mouth. Part of its water flows here into the Olsa, the larger part is directed past the settlements of U Plízdi and Slíny in a channel next to the Olsa to Koukolná, where the Karvinský potok flows into the Olsa after 8.3 kilometers.
