Kazarman ( Kyrgyz Казарман ) is a village and the administrative seat of the Toguz-Toro Raion in the Jalalabat region in Kyrgyzstan .

location

The place is about 100 km northeast of the capital Jalalabat in the corner between the Ferghanagebirge in the west and Moldotoo in the north on the south bank of the Naryn in a valley basin at an altitude of about 1300 meters.

Demographics

At the 1999 census, Kazarman had 10,908 inhabitants, compared to 9,486 in 2009.

traffic

Kazarman can only be reached via mountain passes from Jalalabat and Naryn , the passes of which are snowed over in winter. To the north of the village there is a regional airport ( ICAO : UAFZ, IATA : (КЗМ)), from which there are domestic flights to Jalalabat Osh and Bishkek .

Surroundings

About 20 km south of Kazarman is the Makmal gold mine , which is operated by a subsidiary of the Kyrgyzaltyn concern and produces around 1.2 million tons of gold annually.

About 30 km southwest of Kazarman is the Saimaluu Tash archaeological site with more than 10,000 petroglyphs .
