Kaspar Heidenreich (* around 1510 in Freiberg ; † January 30, 1586 in Torgau ) German Lutheran theologian and reformer.

Life

Nothing is known about its origin and its early days. In 1528/29 he studied in Wittenberg . It remains in the dark where he then turned. He did not emerge until 1540 when he became the school principal in Sankt Joachimsthal (Czech: Jáchymov ). Of course, as a Lutheran, he was soon driven out of Bohemia . In Wittenberg he obtained his master’s degree in 1541 and was a table companion with Martin Luther .

He did not fail to write down Luther's speeches. His postscript are among the best. In October 1543 the Duchess Katharina appointed him her court preacher. He stayed in this position until 1553 when he was appointed pastor and superintendent in Torgau.

In 1560 he married Klara, the daughter of the Torgau mayor Andreas Schulze. Due to the dismissal of a deacon in 1576, Heidenreich was defamed in revenge for his behavior in the religious conflicts of that time, so that he should appear in court; he died shortly before.

He has received a considerable synodal sermon from 1564.
