Kaspar Ludwig Merkl
Kaspar Ludwig Merkl (born February 4, 1885 in Kemnath-Neustadt ( Upper Palatinate ), † 1967 ) was a German pharmacist , author and painter .
Life
Merkl began his pharmaceutical training in 1904 in the Schützen pharmacy in Munich . After a stamina time that u. a. led to Dessau and Allenstein , in 1914 he initially took over the Grafschafts-Apotheke in Haag (in Upper Bavaria ) as a tenant . His extensive work, which includes nine novels as well as short stories and short stories , he created alongside his professional activity. His work with pen and paper earned him the recognition of many writers and thinkers, both during his lifetime and posthumously, who described him as a "poetic pharmacist" or even a philosopher.
Merkl was in close contact with his contemporaries Julius Levin , Georg Urdang and Rudolf G. Binding , whose regulars in Munich he often attended.

His painterly oeuvre includes a large number of oil paintings, mainly Upper Bavarian landscapes and natural scenes from the Inn Valley, as well as a considerable number of smaller drawings and caricatures.
