Kaspar Ullmann

Kaspar Anton Ullmann (born January 16, 1767 in Neudek ; † July 28, 1853 ibid) was a Bohemian mountain master , geometer , surveyor, kk branch taker and mathematical and physical instrument maker.

Life

Kaspar Ullmann was born as the son of Anton Jakob Ullmann (1732–1807) and his wife Maria Magdalena nee. Linck (* 1731) was born in Neudek in the Ore Mountains . His father and great-uncle were already active as mountain foremen in Neudek.

As a geometer and land surveyor, Ullmann produced a topographical border map of the royal free mountain town and rule of Elbogen in five sheets in 1799 . Initially active as a lordly adjunct to the mining authorities , he took over the office of miner from his retired father on January 1, 1801, not as a state but as a lordly miner. In this capacity he was confirmed on February 12, 1802 by the kk Bergoberamt St. Joachimsthal . Ultimately, Ullmann was employed by the kk Berggerichtskasse St. Joachimsthal for the kk branch tax office that remained in Neudek as a branch tenth collector and remained in this position until its dissolution in 1851.

It is also known about Ullmann that, as a trained master watchmaker, he made mathematical and physical instruments. Thus, in 1824, it is listed as such in the presentation of the factory and trade in its present state and is also mentioned as such in the Handbook of the Kingdom of Bohemia for the year 1851 . Ullmann died of old age in 1853 at the age of 86 and was the penultimate mountain master from Neudek.

The son Franz Anton Ullmann (* 1800) is probably identical to the last Bergmeister von Neudek, who had an accident in the fall of 1864 in a die filled with water in the Hirschkopfzeche .
