Kaspersky Anti-Virus also receives automatic real-time updates from the Kaspersky Security Network Service.

Windows users can download an Antivirus Rescue Disk. This scans the host computer from an isolated Linux environment during the boot process . In addition, Kaspersky uses internal password protection to prevent malware from deactivating the antivirus protection or changing internal settings. It also scans incoming instant messenger traffic, e-mail traffic and automatically deactivates links to known malware websites that are accessed with Internet Explorer or Firefox.

The program also includes free technical support and free program upgrades within the paid subscription. Kaspersky Lab currently offers annual, two-year, and three-year subscriptions.
