Box (container)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Germany, a box is generally a stable, mostly rectangular container with or without a lid for storing objects or certain materials. From this, accommodation for living beings ( nesting box ) or other prominent areas ( sandpit , knuckle box ) are called "boxes".

In Austria and Switzerland the container is called a box (e.g. beer box , tool box instead of box ); For the meanings of box in these countries, see box (disambiguation page).
