Kate Hardie (born April 26, 1969 ) is a British actress .

life and career

Kate Hardie, whose real name is Kate Oddie, grew up in Hampstead in the north of the British capital, London . In 1983, at the age of 14, she left school and home to live with a boy. She made her film debut in the same year in the film Runners, directed by Charles Sturridge . Since then she has starred in numerous television series and films. In German-speaking countries she became known for her portrayal of Cathy in the 1986 film drama Mona Lisa alongside the main actors Bob Hoskins , Michael Caine and Cathy Tyson . In 2006 she completed her scriptwriting training at the National Film and Television School . For King of London and some episodes of the television series Come Up , she wrote the scripts in the following years. Kate Hardie most recently appeared in several episodes of the television series Criminal Justice in 2009 .

Kate Hardie lived with actor Dorian Healy for six years. During a photo shoot she met the well-known portrait and fashion photographer Rankin Waddell, whom she married in 1995. After their son Lyle was born, she divorced her husband in 1998. Kate Hardie moved in with fellow actor David Thewlis during the separation phase . This relationship also broke up after a while.
