Cathy Tyson

Cathy Tyson (born June 12, 1965 in Liverpool ) is a British actress .

Tyson's father is an immigrant from Trinidad and her mother is English. Her aunt is the actress Cicely Tyson . Cathy Tyson dropped out of college at the age of 17 to play at the Everyman Theater in Liverpool. In the film Mona Lisa (1986) she played one of the leading roles alongside Bob Hoskins and Michael Caine . For her feature film debut was in the film prize Golden Globe in the category Best Supporting Actress and the BAFTA Award nomination.

In the movie The Snake and the Rainbow (1988) by Wes Craven Tyson played one of the leading roles alongside Bill Pullman , in The Old Man Who Read Love Stories (2001) she played one of the larger roles alongside Richard Dreyfuss . She also appeared in several television series , in the series Gold (1997) she took on one of the leading roles. On the theater stage, Tyson is particularly frequent with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the English Shakespeare Company .

Tyson was married to actor Craig Charles from 1984 to 1989 and has one son.
