Kate McGarrigle
Kate McGarrigle (born February 6, 1946 in Montreal , Québec , † January 18, 2010 ibid) was a Canadian singer .
She had a music group with her sister Anna and was the mother of Rufus and Martha Wainwright . Their father is McGarrigle's ex-husband, the musician Loudon Wainwright III . In the summer of 2006, she fell ill with cancer and died on January 18, 2010.
