Kate Elizabeth Voegele (born December 8, 1986 in Bay Village , Ohio ) is an American singer , composer , guitarist , pianist and actress . Voegele is currently under contract with MySpace Records , which is part of the Interscope Records music label . From 2008 to 2011 she played the singer Mia Catalano in One Tree Hill .

Voegeles band consists of the bassist Mark Tobik, Sam Getz ( guitar , mandolin and others) and herself (singer).

Appearances and prizes

Voegele performed at Farm Aid in 2004 with artists such as Dave Matthews , Willie Nelson , Neil Young and John Mellencamp . In February 2005 she released her second album Louder than Words which helped her to become better known.

Her single Only Fooling Myself won high praise in the USA Songwriting Competition at Borders Books & Music in Austin , Texas .

She also won the New York City Songwriter's circle in 2006 .
