Katerina Paul (born May 16, 1996 ) is an Australian cross-country skier .

Career

Paul started the Cross-Country Australia / New Zealand Cup for the first time in Falls Creek in July 2013 . She achieved eighth place in the sprint. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2015 in Almaty , she came in 60th place over 5 km freestyle, 55th place in skiathlon and 50th place in sprint. In the summer of 2015, she took her first victory in the Australia / New Zealand Cup in the sprint in Falls Creek. She also took second place once and third place twice, making it second in the overall ranking . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râșnov , she ran 65th place over 5 km classic, 55th place over 10 km freestyle and 46th place in the sprint. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she won the sprint in Perisher Valley and also finished second there in the 5 km freestyle. This was followed by further top ten placements and thus won the overall ranking of the Australia / New Zealand Cup . At the U23 World Championships 2017 in Soldier Hollow , she finished 42nd in the 10 km freestyle and 35th in the sprint. She made her debut in the World Cup in February 2017 in Otepää , which she finished in 54th place in the sprint. At the end of February 2017, she achieved 68th place in the sprint at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti , 17th place with Jessica Yeaton in the team sprint and 15th place with the relay. In the summer of 2017, she came second and once in the Australia / New Zealand Cup, making it second in the overall standings . The following year she won the Australia / New Zealand Cup overall ranking with seven top ten finishes, including two podium results. In the 2018/19 season she finished 58th in the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , 55th place in the mass start race over 15 km classic and 32nd place in the sprint and the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol 76th place over 10 km classic and 72nd place in sprint. Her best result at the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk was 29th place in the sprint. In summer 2019, she won the overall standings in the Australia / New Zealand Cup again with two first and three second places .
