Jessica Yeaton (born November 21, 1991 ) is an Australian and formerly American cross-country skier .

Career

Yeaton started in West Yellowstone in November 2011 for the first time in the US Super Tour and finished 29th over 5 km classic and 23rd over 10 km freestyle. In the summer of 2013 she took part in the Cross-Country Skiing Australia / New Zealand Cup 2013 . She achieved four podium finishes, including one victory, and came second in the overall standings. She starts for Australia from the 2014/15 season. In summer 2014, as in the previous year, she achieved second place in the overall ranking of the Australia / New Zealand Cup with four podium finishes . Her best results at the Winter Universiade 2015 in Štrbské Pleso were 13th place in the mixed relay and eighth place in the sprint. In February 2015 she made her debut in Östersund in the cross-country skiing world cup and finished 65th in the 10 km freestyle and 61st place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun , she achieved the 60th place in the 10 km freestyle, the 50th place in the sprint, the 18th place with Casey Wright in the team sprint and the 14th place with the relay. The following year she finished 46th in the Ski Tour Canada . In February 2017 she got her first World Cup points in Pyeongchang with 30th place in sprint and 24th place in skiathlon . Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti were 33rd place in the 30 km mass start race, 17th place together with Katerina Paul in the team sprint and 15th place with the relay and at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were 41st place over 10 km freestyle and 12th place together with Barbara Jezeršek in the team sprint.

In the 2018/19 season, Yeaton took second place three times and third place once on the US Super Tour. She also won her first win in this racing series in Lake Placid over 5 km freestyle and at the end of the season she finished third in the overall standings. Her best result at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol was 22nd place in the skiathlon . In the 2019/20 season she won the American Birkebeiner and took 38th place in the Tour de Ski 2019/20 .
