Katerina Tretyakova ( Russian Катерина Третьякова , Katerina Tretjakowa , * 1980 in Murmansk ) is a Russian opera singer ( lyric soprano ). She has been engaged at the Hamburg State Opera since 2008 .

Life

As a child, Katerina Tretyakova moved with her family from Murmansk to Lithuania , where her father's new place of work was. In Lithuania, Katerina Tretyakova attended music school and learned to play the piano. At fifteen, she began studying at the conservatory in Vilnius .

Katerina Tretyakova studied singing with Giedrė Kaukaitė at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in 2005 . Then she began a master’s degree there, in the second semester of which she switched to the Salzburg Mozarteum with a scholarship for an exchange year . In 2006 she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as Hyacinthus in Mozart's Apollo and Hyacinthus . She studied at the Mozarteum in the class of Josef Wallnig and Elisabeth Wilke , where she graduated in 2007 with a master's degree in “Opera and Music Theater”. Afterwards she studied “song and oratorio” with Breda Zakotnik .

In 2008 she and eleven other young singers took part in the Young Singers Project (YSP) at the Salzburg Festival under the direction of Barbara Bonney and Michael Schade , where Katerina Tretyakova rehearsed Pamina from the Magic Flute and Juliette from Gounod's Roméo et Juliette . From 2008 to 2010, Katerina Tretyakova was a member of the International Opera Studio of the Hamburg State Opera with a grant from the Körber Foundation . In the 2010/11 season she was accepted into the ensemble of the State Opera.

Katerina Tretyakova's repertoire includes: a. Violetta Valéry from La traviata (Verdi), Lucia from Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), Juliette from Roméo et Juliette (Gounod), Gilda from Rigoletto (Verdi), Adina from L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti), Pamina from the Magic Flute (Mozart), Susanna from Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Adele from the Fledermaus (Johann Strauss), the Valencienne from The Merry Widow (Lehár), Gretel from Hansel and Gretel (Humperdinck), Anna from Hans Heiling (Marschner), Regina from Mathis der Maler (Hindemith), Oscar from Un ballo in maschera (Verdi), Ighino from Palestrina (Pfitzner), Antuanette from Le Bal ( Oscar Strasnoy ) and Lucy from Bliss ( Brett Dean ).
