Katharina Maria Karl

Katharina Maria Karl (* 1976 in Regensburg ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1999 to 2000 she completed a traineeship in Guadalajara . She passed the state examination in German / Catholic religious studies in Munich in 2002. Funded by the Doctoral Fellowship for young scientists of the University of Munich was in 2005 in the subject Religious Education / Kerygmatik at Ehrenfried Schulz PhD . From 2005 to 2008 she received pastoral training in the Catholic Missionary Fraternity Verbum Dei in San Francisco . She was pastoral active from 2007 to 2008 in the parish of St. Anthony , Long Beach with a focus on immigrant and corporate pastoral care. From 2008 to 2009 she taught religion at the Humboldt Gymnasium in Vaterstetten . From 2008 to 2014 she was a research assistant at the chair for pastoral theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. In the summer semester 2014 she was a research assistant at the Chair of Religious Education and Didactics of Religious Education at LMU Munich. After her habilitation in 2014 for pastoral theology, she has been teaching since the 2014/15 winter semester as a professor for pastoral theology and religious education at the PTH Münster (appointed July 1, 2015) and is the leader of the pastoral seminar. Since April 2017 she has been the director of the Don Bosco youth pastoral institute in Benediktbeuern .

Her work focuses on forms of succession and the Christian way of life in the present, biographically sensitive and empirical methods of pastoral theology, religious image concepts in city pastoral care, intercultural pastoral care and faith communication.
