Ehrenfried Schulz

Ehrenfried Schulz (born November 13, 1939 in Apolda , Thuringia , † July 31, 2016 in Munich ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian , religious educator and university professor.

Life

Ehrenfried Schulz grew up in the Sudetenland and moved to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1957. From 1958 to 1964 he studied philosophy and theology in Königstein , Munich and Hildesheim .

On February 22, 1964 he was ordained priest for the diocese of Hildesheim in Hildesheim . After several years in pastoral care in Lüneburg (1964–1967, St. Marien Church ), Bremen ( St. Willehad Church ) and Hildesheim, and finally two years as pastor of the St. Barbara Church in Sudmerberg , a district von Goslar , he continued his studies in 1971 at the Munich Institute for Catechetics and Homiletics and at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1979 he was at Erich Feifel with a thesis on religious parenting education to Dr. theol. PhD . He then worked as an academic advisor at the Institute for Practical Theology of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.

In 1985 he was offered the chair for Christian social teaching and pastoral theology at the University of Passau . In 1992 he moved to the chair for religious education and kerygmatics at the Institute for Practical Theology of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. After his retirement in 2005, the chair was no longer filled. Ehrenfried Schulz worked - as already during his activity as a professor - in pastoral care in Schwabing parishes. He was also involved in the training of pastors, e.g. For example, as part of the course offerings at the Institute for Theological and Pastoral Training in Freising, he accompanied the course leading and leading in pastoral care for seven years . In adult education, Schulz worked as a lecturer for the Munich Seniors Academy and the Seniors Studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University. In 2011 Schulz signed the memorandum Church 2011: A necessary departure .
