Katharina Thewes (born January 31, 1983 in Wilhelm-Pieck-Stadt Guben , born Katharina Schulz ) is a former German handball player .

The 1.80 m tall construction engineer playing on the left wing position was under contract with Bundesliga club Buxtehuder SV between 2000 and 2009 . Then she ended her career. She scored a total of 449 goals in 149 Bundesliga games,

Thewes, who grew up in Atterwasch in Brandenburg near the Polish border, played three games (two goals) for the German national team , and made her international debut on October 13, 2006 in Hamm against the Netherlands.
