The St. Katharinen Hospital Frechen is a non-profit hospital in Frechen . The catchment area is the Rhein-Erft district and the western districts of Cologne . The St. Katharinen Hospital GmbH is run by the Catholic parish of St. Audomar Frechen.
history
On 1 July 1882 the Community took over Cellitinnen from Cologne the house as the first hospital outside of Cologne. First matron was Wilhelmine Elisabeth Schmitz (mother Crescentia Schmitz). It was later transferred to the church sponsoring company. During the National Socialist era , forced laborers were employed in the hospital .
structure
The St. Katharinen Hospital is the academic teaching hospital of the University of Cologne . It is the location of the Breast Center Cologne / Frechen. A nursing school is affiliated. In addition to 83 doctors, 311 nurses are employed in the hospital. The St. Katharinen Hospital is included in the North Rhine-Westphalian hospital plan with 433 beds .
The Bedburg-Frechen portal clinic was founded in December 2009 when the St.-Katharinen-Hospital and the St.-Hubertus-Stift in Bedburg signed a cooperation agreement.
In 2010, 15,386 inpatients and 19,305 outpatients were treated in the St. Katharinen Hospital.
