The Catholic Media House in Bonn

In the Catholic Media House Germany in Bonn , the Association of Dioceses of Germany has been uniting its nationwide media under one roof for the purpose of cooperation and networking. The house opened in 2012 in Heinrich-Brüning-Straße in the district of Gronau ( federal quarter ) is the seat of the Catholic news agency , whose subsidiary dreipunktdrei mediengesellschaft , the KNA-Promedia-Stiftung, the medienhaus GmbH and the general non-profit program company (APG), the u. a. operates the internet portal Katholisch.de . The publications published by dreipunktdrei-Verlag include film service and media correspondence . In the Katholisches Medienhaus, the KNA and Katholisch.de each have their own newsroom.

HiSolutions AG , Katholische Hörfunkarbeit and the IT company Competo are also represented as tenants . The building was originally built for Rheinischer Merkur in 2004/05 by the Bonn real estate entrepreneur Marc Asbeck .

Journalistic products

Katholisch.de is the official portal of the Catholic Church in Germany and is aimed directly at (private) users. The KNA is geared towards the media.

The trade journal Medienkorrespondenz and the cinema online portal filmdienst.de , which appeared as a print product until the end of 2017, have been products on the German market since 1953 and 1947 respectively.

Since October, the Die Zeit supplement Christ und Welt , which emerged from the Rheinischer Merkur, has no longer been produced by dreipunktdrei mediengesellschaft mbH, but by Die Zeit subsidiary Zeit: CREDO.

Legal structure

Most of the companies in the Catholic Media House are linked by corporate law. The Association of Dioceses of Germany has a 100 percent stake in medienhaus GmbH, which in turn holds 51 percent in APG , 50 percent in Alpha Entertainment and around 84 percent in KNA . The KNA, in turn, has a wholly-owned subsidiary with dreipunktdrei .
