Marc Asbeck
Marc-Henric Asbeck (born February 10, 1969 ) is a German entrepreneur who started trading armored vehicles together with his brother Frank (founder of SolarWorld AG ) in the early 1990s and is now a well-known real estate entrepreneur in Bonn .
Career
Asbeck is a trained real estate agent . Together with his brother Frank (* 1959) he ran an engineering office in Bonn , the object of which was originally the dismantling of industrial plants and the construction of combined heat and power plants . After a tip from Peru in 1989, the brothers also developed the idea of renting out armored vehicles. In the autumn of 1992, journalists were added as customers who report from crisis areas - at that time primarily from the Bosnian war , for which they set up a branch in Sarajevo . In 1994 "Asbeck Armored Vehicles GmbH" (from 2000 Asbeck Armoring Bonn , since 2008 A-Armoring Bonn ) was entered in the commercial register with the managing directors Marc and Frank Asbeck . The vehicle fleet at that time comprised 36 vehicles; in 1996 it had grown to 52 with a value of around 25 million DM. Later the company also had offices at other locations in Germany and abroad; the younger brother ended up doing it alone. Asbeck also initially held 8.25% of Solarworld AG, which was founded in 1998 and is run by his brother Frank. In 2001 Asbeck Armoring received an extensive order from the United Nations .
In 1994, Asbeck began investing in office properties with his brother's purchase of Auermühle (today the headquarters of Solarworld AG) in the Graurheindorf district of Bonn . He was able to significantly intensify this from the year 2000 by acquiring numerous prominent properties that were available for the relocation of the seat of government to Berlin (1999) - including some state representations - in the former parliamentary and government district . Asbeck is now one of the most important landowners there. Between 2007 and 2009, he invested around 150 million euros in the "Post-Campus" for around 2,000 employees in the direct vicinity of Deutsche Post AG's corporate headquarters (Post Tower) . According to his own statements, he invested around 350 million euros in this location by mid-2011 and around 500 million euros by 2015. Initially through Asco Holding GmbH (founded in 2000), he now runs his business as a real estate entrepreneur as a partnership . The Marc Asbeck Grundbesitz Bonn is located in a formerly as the Bonn Studio of SWR used Villa ( Heinrich-Brüning-Straße 16 ).
Appearing in public
In autumn 2008, Asbeck suggested that the old town hall of his hometown , which was in need of renovation, be acquired, repaired and rented to the city. The proposal was rejected by local politicians in Bonn.
Asbeck supported the CDU candidate Christian Dürig in the Bonn mayor election in 2009 .
