Kathrin Schweinberger (born October 29, 1996 in Jenbach ) is an Austrian cyclist.

Athletic career

Together with her twin sister Christina , Katharina Schweinberger participated in various sports from childhood. Up until 2010 skiing was the top priority, alongside judo , duathlon and cycling . Although both athletes were in the Tyrolean skiing team, they decided to go cycling, "because there you have your opponent right next to you, which is not the case with skiing".

In 2012, Kathrin Schweinberger became Austrian youth champion for the first time, in road races and in individual time trials . The following year, she became national junior champion in the individual time trial, and in 2014 - again as a junior - she won both national road competitions. In 2013 she started at the road world championships in the junior road race, but had to give up.

Schweinberger is also successful on the track : on October 4, 2013, she set a new Austrian junior record over 500 meters with 35.88 seconds . In 2015 she won three Austrian titles in the Omnium , in the Scratch and in the 500-meter time trial. In 2018 she won a stage and the points classification of the Tour of Uppsala ; in the overall standings she took second place.
