Martina Ritter (born September 23, 1982 in Linz ) is a former Austrian cyclist and eight-time Austrian champion (2013-2018).
Career
Ritter became Austrian state champion in mountain driving in 2012 and in individual time trial in 2013 . She won the silver medal in 2012 in the individual time trial, in 2012 and 2013 in the road race and in 2013 in the criterion discipline . At the UCI Road World Championships in 2012 , she started in the individual time trial and was 23rd in 2013 , she finished 29th in this discipline. In 2012 and 2013 she finished third in the overall ranking of the Czech Cycling Tour . In 2015 she became Austrian champion in road racing, in 2016 for the fourth time in the individual time trial.
Riter started the road race at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and finished 46th. At the 2017 UCI Road World Championships in Bergen , Norway , Ritter finished 24th in the road race and 29th in the individual time trial.
Martina Ritter originally wanted to end her active cycling career after the Olympic season. However, after receiving an offer from the British cycling team Drops Cycling Teams , she decided to leave her previous team BTC City Ljubljana and be the only professional cyclist in Austria to continue to be active until the domestic UCI Road World Championships in Tyrol in 2018 . In Innsbruck she finished 25th in the individual time trial. At the end of the season she resigned from cycling.
Private
Martina Ritter completed a degree in economics and business education. She lives in her place of birth Linz and has been the managing director of Sportunion Oberösterreich since 2017 .
