Christiane Soeder-Richter (born January 15, 1975 in Remscheid , Germany as Christiane Sonder ) is a former Austrian cyclist of German origin. She is German Duathlon Champion (1999, 2000 and 2001), Duathlon Vice European Champion (2001) and multiple Austrian National Champion (2004–2012).
Career
Christiane Soeder began her athletic career as a track and field athlete and was successful in the duathlon : three times German champion (1999, 2000, 2001), fifth place in the world championships in America (1999), third place in the world championships short distance (2000) and long distance (2001).
Vice European Champion Duathlon 2001
In 2000 she won the ETU European Duathlon Cup and in 2001 she became Duathlon Vice-European Champion.
Since 2002 Soeder rode exclusively in cycling with Team Unica Graz and from 2005 to 2009 also with the Univega Pro Cycling Team (later names: Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team and Cervélo Test Team ).
3rd place UCI Road World Championships 2007
She was one of the best time trialists in the world and has been the most successful Austrian cyclist since her third place at the 2007 World Championships in Stuttgart .
In June 2008 she won the Grande Boucle Féminine - the counterpart to the men's Tour de France . The following year she came second here. In 2009 she ended her sporting career.
State championship individual time trial 2012
In 2012 she returned to competition after a baby break and in May she was able to win the state championship in the individual time trial again. It has not appeared internationally since 2012.
Soeder works as a doctor and lives in Vienna . In 2007, she and her sister Stefanie Mollnhauer (sports doctor and performance diagnostician ) published a specialist book on women's cycling . Christiane Soeder is married to Bernhard Richter , a former national champion in middle distance running. Their second son was born in February 2014.
