Riitta Salin

Riitta Liisa Salin , b. Hagman (born October 16, 1950 in Helsinki ) is a former Finnish athlete . With a height of 1.73 m, she had a competition weight of 58 kg. Her brother Matti Hagman is a retired professional ice hockey player.

Athletic career

Riitta Hagman was in the Finnish 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in 1969 , which was eighth with a new Finnish record of 3: 40.6 min. Two years later, at the European Championships in 1971 , the relay finished seventh again with a national record of 3: 37.2 minutes.

As Riitta Salin, she celebrated her greatest successes at the 1974 European Championships . She won the 400-meter run with a new world record of 50.14 s. With the relay she won silver with a new national record of 3: 25.7 minutes behind the relay from the GDR.

At the 1976 Olympic Games , she finished seventh over 400 meters in 50.98 s. With the season she was sixth in 3: 25.87 min.
