Moa Hjelmer (born June 19, 1990 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish athlete who specializes in the 200 and 400 meter run .

Hjelmer ran at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona in the Swedish 4 x 100 meter relay , which reached seventh place. At the European Athletics U23 Championships 2011 in Ostrava, she won the silver medal over 200 meters. On August 13, 2011, she set a new Swedish record in the 400-meter run with 51.58 s, undercutting Ann-Louise Skoglund's previous record from 1986 by eleven hundredths of a second. Over the same distance she reached the semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships in Daegu , while she was eliminated in the 200-meter run. Moa Hjelmer won the gold medal over 400 meters at the 2012 European Championships in Helsinki . She improved her own Swedish national record with 51.13 s. In London, however, it was the first round of the Olympic Games for them .

With the 4 x 100 meter relay of her club Spårvägens FK ( Gladys Bamane , Nuulu Ndiwabene , Erica Jarder , Moa Hjelmer) she was Swedish champion in 2013 in Stockholm in 45.82 s.

In March 2013, she won the bronze medal in the 400-meter run at the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden .

In qualifying for the World Athletics Championships in 2013 , she - like Emma Green Tregaro later - started with rainbow-colored fingernails to protest against the controversial legislation against homosexuals in Russia.
