Emma Anna-Maria Green (born December 8, 1984 in Gothenburg , Bergsjön district) is a former Swedish high jumper .

biography

In 2005 she was eighth at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid and won bronze at the World Championships in Helsinki (1.96 m, behind Kajsa Bergqvist and Chaunté Howard ). The following year she was eleventh at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg, she was also part of the Swedish relay, which came in fifth in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

In 2007 she was seventh at the World Championships in Osaka , in 2008 ninth at the Olympic Games in Beijing and in 2009 sixth at the World Championships in Berlin . In 2010 she was fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and second at the European Championships in Barcelona and the Continental Cup in Split . At the World Championships in Daegu she was eleventh.

In 2012 she won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Helsinki (shared with Irina Gordejewa and Olena Choloscha ). At the Olympic Games in London shortly afterwards, she reached eighth place. In March 2013 she won the bronze medal in the high jump at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden .

So far, she has been Swedish champion in high jump six times (2005 and 2007 to 2011), and in 2005 she was also champion in long jump .

Personal

Emma Green is 1.80 m tall and weighs 62 kg. She married her trainer Yannick Tregaro in March 2011 , and the couple filed for divorce in February 2014.

Her protest against Russian anti-homosexual laws at the 2013 World Athletics Championships attracted worldwide attention . She was warned for this by the World Athletics Federation . After various injuries and the associated sporting setbacks, she became more active as a photographer and in 2016 exhibited her photographs publicly in Gothenburg.
